RESTORATION

Remember the putty
you squeezed between cracks
years ago, on your knees.

Each time you got up
it was harder to unbend
from the prayer

of restoration
carefully rendered
to keep from aging.

The house so slowly
seeming older and older
but your lines

could not be buffed away
and your frame
was shrinking.

If only you could sit
day after day
with nothing more to repair.

Judith Pordon

Remozamiento

Te recuerdas de la masilla
que exprimías por entre las grietas
años ha, de hinojos?

Cada vez que te incorporabas
era más duro el desdoblarte
de la oración

del remozamiento
cuidadosamente reproducido
para evitar el envejecimiento.

La casa tan lentamente
en apariencia más vieja y más vieja
pero tus líneas

no pudieron ser tapadas
y tu fachada
se ha ido encogiendo.

Si sólo pudieras tú sentarte
día tra día
sin nada más que reparar.

Judith Pordon
