In The Next Seat

He sat, stone forward,
with a graceless absence of gesture

waiting for motion to begin
somewhere else,

his impatient timepiece,
ticking.

For him, I was unacceptable
so I spoke hesitantly.

He was sandpaper,
irritated and irritating.

Under my color skin
he felt no kindred blood

and changed
his seat.

En El Asiento De Junto

Estaba sentado, duro como la piedra
con una ausencia de expresion sin gracia

esperando que el movimiento empezara
en algun otro lugar

su impaciente pieza de tiempo
tictando

Para el, yo era inaceptable
entonces le hablé temerosamente.

El fue aspero como lija,
irritado e irritante.

Bajo el color de mi piel
el no sintio afinidad de sangre

y se cambio
su asiento.
