Hurricane Kenna as it struck Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

As the leading edge of Hurricane Kenna started blasting Mexicos Pacific coast,
thousands of people were evacuated, schools closed and coastal highways shut down.
Kennas sustained winds slipped from 160 mph to 140 mph as the eye made landfall around noon.
