Anti-Starvation Diet

Eres mi Pastel
De Choclo with your
indio dientes entering my boca,
maize growing downwards to spread
my sea of longing with
huevos riding between these
shores of appetite, the olives
of your burnt paprika tears
staining my memory,
the casseroled crust of your
aloneness breaking open
to flow down the pacific
to take me to your San Antonio
moons of pearl,
only these are onions,
and this is only a dream
or a nightmare
if I can't eat you.

Eres mi pastel de Choclos
con tus dientes Mapuches
entrando en mi boca,
tu choclo creciendo raudo de abajo hacia arriba
para separar mi oceano de deseos insatisfechos
con tus huevos recorriendo mis costas de apetito,
las aceitunas de tus quemadas (o calientes)
lagrimas de "Aji de color" matizan mis memorias,
la horneada capa de tu soledad
se rompe, abre y me lleva
navegando el Pacifico hacia abajo
hasta tu San Antonio,
perlas de Luna,
solamente que estas son cebollas,
y este es solo un sueno
o una pesadilla
ya que no puedo comerte.
